FAQs

Here’s some of our most frequently asked questions. For more specific enquiries, please just give us a shout, we want to hear from you!

How many songs will the band learn especially for me?

+

While we guarantee to learn your first dance, we're so busy that we can't promise to add any more new songs to our set other than this. It takes hours of practice to learn and polish a new song to the high standard that we set ourselves and we'd rather not let you or ourselves down by doing a less than perfect job. We hope you understand.

How long do you take to set up?

+

We need an hour to set up, check everything is working and get changed into our stage suits.

How long do you perform for?

+

A standard wedding booking will see us play from 8pm till midnight with a half hour break. We can play past midnight and on some occasions set up early, but this does incur an additional fee. For non wedding bookings, we'll be happy to discuss your schedule with you.

How much do you charge?

+

You can get an instant quote by clicking the button at the top right hand side of our home page. The fee will appear as if by magic right in front of you. You'll also get a follow up email to confirm the price. If we're available and you're happy with the price, get back in touch with our team at Hireaband to secure the date. It's very much first come first served, so if we're available, don't hesitate.

Do you provide all your own equipment?

+

Yes, all we need is a clear area in which to set up and a power supply.

How loud will you be?

+

Volume is at your discretion. Bear in mind that to get a good atmosphere, a reasonable level of volume is required but we don't like too loud any more than you do.

What do you wear?

+

Usually suits for weddings and corporate events. More casual for club gigs. Basically we'll match you and your guests.

Are you insured?

+

Yes. Our manager will send your venue any certification that's required.

Can we see you play live before we book you?

+

If possible, yes. We play at a lot of weddings and private events which are not suitable, but we occasionally play in city centre venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh. On top of that we do the occasional showcase with Hire A Band or private showcases at rehearsal rooms. Showcases will be announced on our news page.

Can my cousin Dave join you for a song?

+

Yes, as long as we know in advance and he's not under the influence on the night.

What happens if one of the band is ill on the day of my event?

+

We have a network of fellow musicians that we can call on to stand in on the rare occasion one of the band is ill. On top of that, we're also represented by Scotland's biggest entertainment agency. They have access to dozens of wedding bands in Scotland even at the very last minute. However, we've never missed a gig yet.

How far will you travel?

+

We regularly perform all over the country, so distance really is no object but we will require an additional fee for travel and may need bed and breakfast arranged for us.

Will we need to feed you?

+

It would be nice, but isn't necessary unless we're travelling a long distance to get to you or yours is a corporate event and we need to sound check some time before we perform. Our manager will advise on any requirements.

Will you be able to do my first dance?

+

Given enough notice, yes. It takes a while for us to rehearse a song to the high standards that we set ourselves. If you can give us at least 8 weeks notice, that should be fine.

Can we choose every song you'll play at our wedding?

+

While we're always happy to play your favourites (and of course your first dance selection will always be played) we don't recommend selecting every song. Over the years we've learned how to fill a dance floor every time. We do that by "reading" the audience and playing what we know will give everyone a chance to dance to songs they love. We need that flexibility to do our best for you, so relax and leave it to us.
